Inoui Editions for the Louvre

The Louvre Museum and Inoui Editions announce the launch of their first-ever collaboration on a range of scarves, square scarves and leather goods.

Inaugurated in 1793, the Louvre is the world's largest art museum. It houses priceless collections spanning several millennia and a territory stretching from America to the borders of Asia, covering more than 73,000 square metres. Today, the Louvre is the most visited museum in the world. Launched in 2010, the textile accessories brand Inoui Editions stands out for its spectacular prints and, season after season, affirms its roots in the textile tradition of design publishers. This collection is a tribute to the famous Parisian museum, its masterpieces and its locations.

Three designs

Archives is an imaginary tour behind the scenes of the museum, exploring the moulding workshops. Inoui Editions draws its inspiration from the Greek, Etruscan and Roman Antiquities department, the Medieval, Renaissance and Modern Art department, the Louvre History department and the Oriental Antiquities department.

With this model, Inoui Editions has created a wonderful collage of motifs, ancient sculptures and other historical bas-reliefs from different eras and continents. The elements chosen are part of an iconographic theme that has always been a source of inspiration for the brand. It features a Greek amphora, the head of Aphrodite, a Corinthian capital, Hercules at rest... Inoui Editions plays on the surprise effect created by the colouring of the marble, a nod to the original polychromy of the statues.

Architecture

For the Architecture design, Inoui Editions has created a model inspired by the architecture of the museum designed and engraved by Baltard, creating a patchwork of columns, arches and staircases with a play on depth. The graphic treatment takes its cue from the aesthetics of nineteenth-century gouache wallpapers, with their interplay of light and shadow.

Louvre

Inoui Editions revisits 17th-century Paris around the Louvre, where the engraving of the Turgot plan, under the light, spontaneous pen of our designers, meets the classic bandana.

At Inoui Editions, art is an inexhaustible source of inspiration. The dozens of hours spent by designers wandering through the countless rooms of the Louvre Museum in direct contact with the works have nourished and inspired them, forging close links between art and fashion through three exclusive drawings.
The development of this collection, under the dual artistic direction of the Louvre Museum, has enabled a symbiotic collaboration in which the brand's unique style has evolved into a shared vision.
