Attraverso questa nuova collaborazione con la BNF, Inoui Editions illustra il suo gusto per l'immaginario con un'immersione poetica nell'opera di Oronce Fine e nella sua mappa del mondo a forma di cuore. Questa proiezione cartografica con una geografia fantastica riflette le incertezze e le ipotesi dell'epoca: il Nord America è ancora assimilato a una parte dell'Asia e un vasto Terra Australis, un continente immaginato per bilanciare il globo, è stato disegnato nell'emisfero sud. La famosa incisione a forma di cuore del cartografo francese del XVI secolo, Oronce Fine, viene qui reinterpretata per avvolgersi intorno al collo e viene ravvivata con un bordo bandana.
Through this new collaboration with the BNF, Inoui Editions illustrates its taste for the imaginary with a poetic plunge into the work of Oronce Fine and his heart-shaped world map.
This cartographic projection with its whimsical geography reflects the uncertainties and hypotheses of the time: North America is still assimilated to a part of Asia, and a vast Terra Australis, a continent imagined to balance the globe, has been drawn in the southern hemisphere. The famous cordial engraving by 16th-century French cartographer Oronce Fine is reinterpreted here to wrap around the neck, refreshed by a bandana border.
